So how will you find out if your environment in contaminated with radiation. That's where radiation detector products come into surface. This cutting-edge technology detects any object in its range if it's contaminated with any type of radiation. Radiation detectors are sensitive to objects, even food and even the air you are breathing. Construction workers are also prone to such so it is advice to have their radiation detector
There are two types of radiation detectors that are used mainly on today's popular radiation devices. They are similar in all purposes but different on how they detect radiation and what kind they pick-up.
One of the most popular and easily available in the market is radiation detector devices with Geiger counters which use Geiger-Muller tubes. They have low sensitivity to radiation than other kinds of detectors. They can't also analyze and differentiate the type of radiation they are detecting. And also, they can't easily detect moving radiation; however, they are quite affordable and durable.
Another kind of radiation detector are Sodium Iodide (NaI(Tl)) and Cesium Iodide (Csi(Tl)). Unlike the Geiger- Muller detectors, they are quick to read and measure the actual energy of gamma rays. It is at least a 100 times more sensitive than Gieger-Muller.D-tect Systems' mini rad-D and mini rad-V devices uses CsI(Tl) radiation detectors equipped with photo-multiplier tubes (PMT) that detect radiation from tens of meters away.
There are also scintillation detectors that are made from Sodium Iodide and Cesium Iodide. It is ideal on scanning people or cargos when boarding. It can detect even the smallest amount of radiation either on food or water.

A personal dosimeter is a radiation detector that is smaller and more compact. Its range widens as much as meter or your own personal range. It usually creates clicking sound to signify radiation activity or contamination around you. It also automatically measures the level of toxicity. Many people around the world live near nuclear power plants and have questions about much risk nuclear radiation actually poses. It is no wonder that there are different kinds of personal dosimeter you can purchase online at specialized stores. Even cell phones are now equipped with radiation but it is still discussed thoroughly of it is safety or not.

Due to the Japanese Nuclear Incident, people around the world are worrying that the same incident will occur on their countries. It is now highly recommended that all citizens must have their radiation detector or dosimeter to protect themselves from radiation contamination.
